Friends of the Library

Friends of the West Fork Library group (FOL) is a non-profit organization established in 1999 which has raised over $50,000 for books, books on cd, dvds, and furnishings for the library through their various fundraisers. The major yearly fundraisers are the Mother's Day Plant Sale which is held on the Friday before Mother's Day, a yearly book sale, the Christmas Basket Silent Auction, quilt raffles, and Breakfast with Santa. Each Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, the West Fork Renewable Resource Center (Recycling Center) sells paperbacks, hardback books, and videocassettes for 25 cents each with money going to the Friends.

Membership dues are $5.00 a year for individuals, $10.00 for families, $25.00 for corporate, and $250.00 for a lifetime membership. Members receive email notices of upcoming meetings and a yearly mailed newsletter outlining all the activities and events of the past year. Current officers are: Patty Baker and Susan McCarthy, co-presidents, Steve Winkler, secretary, and Marilyn McLaughlin, treasurer. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join. For more information, email the Friends of the Library.

The Friends of the West Fork Library group was given the former First Christian Church building adjacent to the library's parking lot (as there is no longer a congregation). This building now serves the community as Library Hall, offering library programs, poetry readings, dance lessons, exercise classes, receptions, baby showers, Bible study, musical performances, and much more.

If you would like to use the Library Hall for your event, please print, sign and date the Application for Use and the Policy for Use and submit both documents to the West Fork Municipal Library, either in person or by mail to:
